In 2006 he settled in Reno, where he plays with many of the finest jazz musicians in the area and in 2007 was elected “Tahoe Musician of the Year.”

Judith Ames (aka Dr. Judith Whitenack) sings jazz with her husband, tenor saxophonist Rocky Tatarelli, around the Reno/Tahoe and San Francisco Bay area.  She is Professor Emerita of Spanish at UNR, she received her Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, and has been at UNR since 1979. She has taught many undergrad and grad courses on Spanish language, literature, and culture, as well as Don Quixote in English translation, Core Humanities 201 and 202 and various capstone courses on Hispanic women’s literature in translation
